Episode 10: Kathy Smith On Fitness, Family And BLT’s

“Each One Of Us Has Majesty Within Us” Kathy Smith

Recorded a week before Kathy left for Rio Brazil to cheer and support her daughter Kate Grace in the Olympics, Kathy and I sat down to talk about her past, her present and her magnificent future both inside and out of the fitness industry. Side note Grace made it to the Olympic finals while also running a personal best.
Kathy shares how that at a very early age she lost both her parents. It was this tragedy that propelled her into running, and she shares how movement also helped her heal through this challenging time.

We go back into where her fitness career began: hint – album cover to the left and how she is always learning, evolving and reinventing both her career and life’s journey.

As with all my guests, Kathy reveals how important her morning rituals are. She shares how she spends her mornings and reveals her favorite B.L.T (no it is not what you are hoping it is – it’s better)

Kathy discusses the power of intuition and shares how she manages to stay in the present so that she can hear the whispers from the world. This is where she can be open and available to the new opportunities all around her. Kathy reminds us the importance of not taking anything personally and shares that she too has to work hard to remember this lesson.

I love that at about 30 minutes in Kathy begins to dive into the good stuff and shares her continuing journey to create a life of meaning and purpose, she also shares this wonderful quote that I promised to put into the show notes.

Quote by Thomas Cooley: “I am not who you think I am; I am not who I think I am; I am who you think I am”

Kathy talks about the power of gratitude and how she finds time to marvel in the smallest of moments and finds the extra-ordinary in the seemingly ordinary of days.
